Continuing with the analysis of the significant similarities and differences in presentation of the Gospel "Mark", and The Life of Apollonius as to Sources which are the key difference between biographies and stories. Biographies utilize sources in order to control the content while stories avoid sources in order to free the narrative. A summary of significant differences so far: Positive 1) Apollonius identifies general sources. 2) Apollonius identifies specific sources. 3) Apollonius identifies provenance for the author. Negative 1) Mark, by implication, denies human sources. Continuing: The Life of Apollonius Quote:
Apollonius claims to be critical of a source. Joseph STORY, n. A narrative, commonly untrue. The truth of the stories here following has, however, not been successfully impeached. http://errancywiki.com/index.php?title=Main_Page |
