I notice that KeithJM has posted over there and asked "What exactly is faith?".

If people were wanting an insight into Peter's thinking they might find his answer interesting. It starts: "Whatever faith is, it is not the simplistic "belief without sufficient evidence" definition bandied about by enemies of faith."

From Peter Kirby:
Quote:
Theological faith is the human capacity, by the grace of God, to trust the Creator--to trust God to provide, to heal, to sustain, to forgive, and in all ways to be God.

If this is the neighborhood where he's pitched his tent, well ... .

It's not pathetic, it's entirely human.

Sometimes we humans, and I include myself at the top of the list, can be pretty pathetic.

Peter now seems to be calling himself a Catholic Naturalist - more here.

I'm not sure if this is the same as a Catholic Atheist (if there can be Jewish Atheists, or Humanistic Jews, why not Catholic Atheists?)
Hey, why aren't you sneering about his liberal Enlightenment refusal to swallow the whole magic mumbo-jumbo? Where's Charlotte Allen when you need her?

Christian Rock Song Lyrics from Squint (or via: amazon.co.uk)

Ted Turner said that Christianity is for losers, and Christians took the slogan and embraced it.

I didn't think this would actually happen, but anything's possible.

Who will be next... Earl Doherty... Bart Erhman? Dan Barker?

There is some competition about that! Delete the god concept and that is the aim of humanistic psychotherapy!

What about the "spirit" concept? From your link:
Core Values AHP members are linked to each other by a shared set of values:
  • an appreciation of the spiritual and intuitive.

Yes. And you should rather try to understand the other title, which is the main title. It stinks.
