That is absolutely false. Jesus is supposed to be omnipotent, but he can't even not send people to hell?

He created the universe. He created earth. He created hell. He created the people that go to hell. He makes the rules. He makes the people who go to hell die. He judges them. He won't let them out.

"Everything he could" my ass.

My point is that, if I were God, no one would go to Hell. Period. There wouldn't be a Hell. And I asked for the reader to draw their own conclusions from that - which, in comparison, would be more evil? A God that didn't allow anyone to go to Hell, that didn't even allow a Hell to exist, or a God that could, if he so wished, prevent people from going to a Hell that he freakin' created, but does not?

What's the bottleneck, then? Why are people still going to Hell? Why can't Jesus, who is supposed to be GOD, for christ's sake, stop people from going to Hell, if he doesn't want them to? Is the problem...gasp...The Father? Is Jesus good, but the Father evil?

You really don't have much wiggle room here.

The tolerance and passive resistance items of his ministry were net positives. It would be nice if Christians actually practiced those features.
God gave man knoweledge to make medicine....too bad those with this knoweledge has intentionally created medicines from chemicals and ineffective ones to enrich themselves off the poor health of others.....man is the blame ...not God.

Where the fuck is the medicinal recipe section of the Bible? Oh, wait, there isn't one! Every medicine that has ever been developed throughout the history of humanity was discovered or created through human ingenuity, especially through science.

And really, you don't get it. God could stop people from getting sick, but he doesn't. It has nothing to do really with how medicine is made.

If Hell did not exist....there would be no check against future rebellions and wickedness......Hell exists because both angels and man have the knowledge of both good and evil....Hell is a check against evil....without it the spread of lawlessness would be much worse then it already is.

Well, there's one bit about going and washing in a river several times, and another story where some guy spits in the dust and makes a paste to put on someone's eye, and a recommendation to drink wine for an upset tummy...

Yeah, and I think that the efficacy of spit mud has been pretty much disproved.

So your excuse is that your ominpotent god is really impotent and can't do anything but torture people forever?

Lame-o.

Human ingenuity is of God...because He is the Author of Wisdom.....people will get sick, people will even die in this sin ridden world....for when sin entered so did sickness and death.

Deuty. 7:4

Deut. 21:11-21:14.

Deut. 22:23-22:24.

Deut. 22:28.

Numbers 25:1-25:13

Numbers 31:1-31:54.

This is all just off the top of my head. There're many, many more where these...abominations....come from. Moses not only tolerated rape, but he endorsed it, as did many of the prophets that followed in his shoes.

And it's not just rape, either. The Old Testament is filled with the evil the Israelites believed their god did. It's a litany of horrors: Genocide, rape, mass infanticide, world-destroying floods, plagues unleashed at random for minor misdeeds....this god you pray to is a degenerate monster.

--I'm just grateful he's not real; as an agnostic, I have more faith in a possible divinity than that NB

That's it. We die because of sin. And every animal, too. That's why we're so similar to animals. God made it that way.

Yawn.

Yeah, I'm moving on. This thread bores me. I wish I could hear a new lame excuse, but it's always the same thing over and over.
