The beauty of being human is that we can always do things that the purported Christian God cannot do.
We can try and fail. We can fornicate. We can disobey and be punished. We can die...permanently. We can always seek the answer to any mystery. We can journey into the unknown. We can pretend. What other examples can be given that we humans can do that the Christian God simply cannot? If such a God-being existed, do you think it'd envy us our imperfections? Steve |

We can forget.
We can change our minds, mend our ways, disavow previously held opinions and refine current ones. We can experience uncertainty. We can learn. |

We can be human.
Despite whatever claims Christians would like to make about Jesus, the God-man concept contradicts the very nature of God and humanity. |

There are also very positive things that we can do that god is incapable of. For example:
We can be brave We can strive to overcome adversity, even when the things are going very badly (fortitude) We can shrug off failure with a smile. We can promise to "do better next time" and mean it. We can EVOLVE! |

We can be surprised.
Have you ever considered how unspeakably, unavoidably boring omniscience must be?? |

We can grant forgiveness without requiring a blood sacrifice.

We can be loved sincerely, openly and deeply without threatening anyone with punishment if they don't.

Of course, it's really hard in the first place for me to imagine emotions in something that isn't a product of evolution. Whenever I try to think about the way the Xian god's mind works, I find that I have no coherent frame of reference for comprehending it. I know that all the minds that exist on Earth work the way they do because the various demands of living on Earth have led them to evolve mechanisms that allow them to work that way as opposed to some other way, but what would cause the mind of a god to work in any particular way? On what basis can one deduce its emotions apart from the inconsistent conjecture found in holy books? I'm not very well-read in that area, so I don't know. The Xian god is supposedly jealous of other gods. That's kind of like envy. And it also seems to have a tendency to not hold itself to the same moral standards that it holds humans, which would certainly give it a green light for envy. But has anything been written of the character's value system that would lead them to conclude that it would envy us? |

The Beauty is that the word beauty is so beautiful.
And, that as you grow older you come to see that it is all about growing older. bleu |
