If Jesus = God, then did God let His creations (Romans) kill Him? Does the phrase "Jesus died for our sins" imply that God commited suicide by intentionally getting Himself killed? If Jesus is God, how can God be the father of Himself? If Jesus was God, why did God moan in immense pain when He was crucified?

Why don't you address your question at Real Christians (TM)?

Many atheists consider this illogical. That is one of the reasons we are not Christians. |

Christians of various sorts believe that Jesus was Divine, but descended to earth and took part in human life, including birth, growing pains, eating, preaching, and dying in agony (but not having sex!)

He did this as a participant in a drama for cosmic mysterious reasons that you will miss out on if you try to get to literal about it. Do you think that the Islamic version of Jesus is any more rational? In the Qur'an, Jesus is born of a virgin, and doesn't really die on the cross. But he's still human and subordinate to Mohammed, who is an ordinary human with epilepsy. Can you explain this? |

Weren't you the person asking us in another thread why we don't all post at Christian websites? If so, then I guess you got your answer. They aren't exactly known for their openmindedness and willingness to engage in debate.

Yup, primitivefuture, you've discovered something. That is... the whole God sacrificing himself to himself to save his own creation from his own wrath thing... doesn't make any freakin' sense!
