personally, I'd hang with what he said in his book. That was before he became the leader, before he needed to appease party members. The book held his true feelings, and aspirations. He wasn't out to get votes yet, he was exposing himself.

Theists aren't being blamed. In most cases, the religion and its teachings are being blamed. Atheism has no one set of teachings - just a lack of belief in deities.

Personally, I would not trust enough of anyones' writings about himself, and even less with someone seeking power, and none from someone as blatantly insane as hitler. Even though hitler was a very smart man with many wise things to say and a genious at being able to lead people, that is completely overshadowed by his ignorant, senseless, and truely hateful rants made into a viciously bloody reality.

That is a very good point. Religions set the rules and gives their own personal opinions as though they were a fact. In the case of christianity, it also provides a reward to followers, and a punishment for those who do not. The christian religion teaches anyone not of the faith, is worthless, better they were never born, well deserving the worst of all possible fates imagined. Anyone really believing such things can easily not have much regard for those outside the faith, that can breed hate, which in time can become outright genocide and wars, and did in far too many examples throughout history. In the cases with religion, their cop-out for such atrocities wasn't that they were only following orders from a human leader on earth, but from 'god himself, the absolute ruler of the universe'.

And the most deluded of leaders believe they were divinely sent by God to lead their people. Like the divine right of kings, except applied to people allegedly elected in a free election (Bush lost the majority vote in the US in 2000).

Examples: Adolf Hitler, George W.Bush

Hitler was a Roman Catholic, and was never excommunicated.

Within the past several months, free inquiry magazine published two articles on the horrible collaboration between Hitler and the Roman Catholic church. Hitler is known to have said- truthfully- that he never did anything to the Jews which the Church had not done before him.

How very queer it is, then, that there is no "Last Edited by" moderator tag in it....

Methinks your quickness to blame TPTB for mucking about with your post when no such thing has happened may have something to do with your new rank. Or not.
