Hello Goliath,

As a Christian I have to say I admire the way you end your posts with the word sincerely, you seem to be keeping very calm; even though you are struggling with a hatred for Christianity.

I hope in time your hatred will become less intense, and that you will find an inner peace.

Peace

Eric

This thread has generally become general. That means I get to toss it over to GeneralRD!

Hey Vinnie how do you feel about telemarketers and the federal "do not call" list?

I'm rolling on the floor, already, and this is just the first sentence.

Getting funnier...

Many religions seem to discourage the pursuit of answers.
Always good to end with an irony meter explosion.

You do realize, SoC, that Christianity only encourages the pursuit of answers as long as the answers agree with Christianity. You need only look at how dissenting theologians like Shelby Spong are treated.

The reason Christians engage in apologetics is not because Christianity is an inherently more rational faith than other religions: it is because Christianity is embedded in a culture in which rational arguments are the method by which one wields political influence.

Who is he?

That seems quite ridiculous, you might have to provide some evidence for that. Almost all Christians that I know are not concerned with politics by any means.

this is essentially an atheist forum, he's not pushing anything. this isn't your home is it?

You are not tolerating Christianity which is an evangelistic religion. To tell Christians they can't preach to you is to tell them to not be Christians. Its an inherent property of the religion.
no it isn't. the percentage of christians who preach to others is relatively small. it's also a ridiculous reasoning. so by not tolerating them telling us we're evil and by not letting them generally harass us against our will, we're not tolerating their *beliefs*?

bullshit.

they can believe jesus is the saviour if that's what they want. they can even tell me they believe that. but at the moment where i say: "piss off you're annoying me", they got to leave me alone.

there are laws against harassment you know. they DO apply to christians too.

Quote:
Its also a good thing that they preach to you. You granted the legitimacy of the first point that it is their "right to believe you are going to the fires of hell." Now you tell them they are hateful and being bad by "trying to save you from the fires of hell"? What gives?

they can believe that, but they can't give us shit over it. they can't harass us over it. i can believe you're a real asshole (which i do), but i can't follow you around, looking over your shoulder shouting that you're going to hell for being an asshole all the time.

there's a difference between believing someone and pushing your beliefs on everyone else.

Then, in the little box, type in "Shelby Spong".

Then click the button labeled "Google Search".

Here's a really big hint: you can use this for other things, too. You don't have to type "Shelby Spong" into the little box. You can type in other things, too! {flame deleted - wade-w}

Well, then, I envy you. I wish I could say the same. Say, does the planet you live on accept immigrants?

Mods: I know you're going to edit this... but dammit, it was funny.

Yahzi:

If you knew your comment was going to be deleted, then you should not have posted it. Doing so was therefore a deliberate violation of IIDB rules. I will expect you to refrain from similar behavior in all future posts.

What a pity god didn't hide from them. Then they would truly have loved him.

"As an opposite, people who believe the earth be flat is not rational. They be crazy sons of the b word! "

Doesn't the Bible say something about the earth being on top of pillars with four corners and a heaven above and hell below and ...
I guess who ever wrote that thing was a crazy son of a b word.
