The basic idea of the Exodus, that a group of Hebrews (5-10 thousand?) or other Canaanites/Semites, had been enslaved in Egypt and scaped, is not fantastical or unbelievable in itself (it doesn't even need archeological proof to be considered posible). What makes it fantastical are the numbers of people involved, the plagues, the miracles, the years of wandering in the desert, etc. |
