| Mohammed, the Paraklete, and Muslims in the NT split from Why is the Bible so sloppy?

The OT is actually the interweaving of Yahvist, Elohist and Sacerdotal texts that are centuries apart....... and passages in the NT that speak about the advent of "Muhammad" are edited out as well. only some remnants still exist...... The Gospel of Luke was selected as one of the 4 Gospels solely for Ecclesiastical purposes.... The Book of Enoch was edited out from the Director's cut NT because it was deemed "too dangerous".... ---River |

I don't think that contradictions make it 'sloppy', just contradictory. If you want REAL sloppy-ness, check out the Quran.

"Since it's English translation in the 1800's from texts found in Ethiopia in 1768, The Book of Enoch (known today as 1st Enoch) has made quite a stir in academic circles. 1 Enoch has been authenticated as existing and in wide use before the church age (most scholars now date it at 200 BC). Multiple copies were discovered in 1948 in the Dead Sea Scrolls. This of course has caused many to wonder why it is not included in modern Bibles" http://www.alienresistance.org/book_of_enoch.htm
