in what context does someone from New Jersey say - 'You Americans...'?
--Silly Bear. Everyone knows New Jersey isn't part of America. It's French.

release the hounds!!
--Definitely. The poor puppies need a good walk in the park.

So I see that Blaster has admitted his farming roots. Are the rest of the mods afraid to admit their boot fetishes come from working on the farm as well? Like the name "team bossyBOOTS" wasn't a dead giveaway...

Pu-lease. A creationist only thread created at the urging of creationists who wanted no debate (something I opposed greatly (as I was still a member, then). But once created and once I was asked to moderate, I did my job. When a post got reported, I followed the guidelines--NO DEBATE BY EVOLUTIONISTS! I know with your degrees, you can read?

By the way herev just referenced Kool-Aid. It seems with the cult like nature of Cf modding which no one has disagreed with that Kool-Aid is a very appropriate comment to drop.
where do you think I got the reference from? Tongue in cheek, call us a cult, we can play along--doesn't mean we really believe it

We all sin, Christians are not perfect, but often they are not humble either, and that is something we are called to be. Humble so you don't get some superiority complex, and talk down to others, and start acting like the people Christ rebuked. When people start doing this they are operating under a different spirit, and a bad one. I think it all comes down to ego and selfishness. These things I am continually trying to get rid of, forgive me if I have stepped out of line.

I Love Jesus -- "Let your light so shine before men, that they might see your good works and glorify your father who art in heaven." If you Love Jesus, be better than this. Non-believers get tired of hearing the whole "We all sin... we are all human spiel". We hear it from the people who defend the Catholic priests, we hear it from the people who defend the money grubbing televanglists, we hear it from those who defend the homophobic gay-bashers, and you know what?? It has stopped working!!! Love one another. LOVE ONE ANOTHER. Just stop, and love one another! Is that too much to ask?

Ten-foot tall ogres with long pointy teeth don't show you pictures of their new baby!
--They may not show YOU. Some of us have an in with the ogres.

I thank you so much for that compliment rigorist, That really warms my heart to hear that your opinion of me has changed.
--For what it's worth (5 3/4 according to the latest ticker), mine has, too.

BTW, I'm feeling absolutely wonderful today. I had an interview in which my last job, AKA The Job From Hell, actually might help me get a new one. When I got home, a man in my apartment complex told me I was absolutely gorgeous and was very disappointed that I was married. Life is going very well! If you want to take five seconds from the back and forth acrimony and pray that I get this job soon, or wish me luck on getting it, I'd love to add YOU to my reasons I'm having a great day!

I am not at the point where I can pray, but best of wishes to you, and I hope you get that job!!

I am a Christian, and I thank you for your post. It caused me to look at the profiles of those who were reading this thread. Many of them describe themselves as "seekers" or "not sure."

If I and others here preceive all Christians as gossiping and back-biting while shunning others whose sins are sins of the flesh, not the more damaging sins of the spirit, the damage you do is more than I can tell.
We're supposed to love God and each other. (How are we doing so far, in your opinion? *sarcasm*)

This thread and the board you represent should be an image of Christ and Christ in you. Only love, forgiveness and grace are true witnesses to your faith. If I can't see Christ in you, why should I believe that your faith is real?
Anyone? Hello? Can some of the Christian participants on this thread answer this question? Why should Zeda or anyone else believe our faith is real by the way we act? Our love? Our changed lives? Our forgiveness? Our unity? Our humility? What?

And if your faith is not real, as leaders of the Christian community, how can a unbeliever or a skeptic be convinced that any faith in God is not just delusion? A delusion held because you fear death, and because you need to feel special, better than the rest of common humanity.
Again, any takers? I find myself at a loss to answer right now.

For me, I take things on an individual-by-individual basis. I never paint a broad brush over all Christians or all atheists. I speak for me. No one person here is the representative for all Christianity. And, the actions of a few, doesn't represent Christianity as a whole. I would imagine that most Christians don't even venture into these foras. You also get some pretty screwed up mental cases, navigating forums on the web, living in a made-up world....with ficticious names, bogus stories, and charading around as something they're not. And, no one is the wiser.

To all those who are truly seeking answers about God and/or Christianity, let me just say two things.

1) You are doing yourself an injustice if you seek these answers here in cyber-space, (for all the reasons I listed above and then some). Go talk to Christians face-to-face.

2) Christians are not above making mistakes. We all make mistakes.

Default I had an attack of conscience...

.. and I feel that I owe RNHP an apology. I considered doing it via pm, but I went off last night in front of everyone, so I will apologize in front of everyone. I'm sorry that I brought up you not sticking up for Iddie. I shouldn't have done that... you probably have your reasons and it's not my business anyway. What I said to him was mean and I shouldn't have said it.
