It depends on the Christian. They don't all think alike. A majority of them accept the scientific explanation.
Most inerrantists claim that dinosaurs were created along with all the other animals during the first week of creation and subsequently all died out, possibly during Noah's flood but more likely sometime afterward. |

The Church (notice the capitals here) usually get blamed for a lot. But in this case I'm pretty sure that The Church, i.e. the Catholic one, accepts the scientific explanation. That takes care of an awful lot of Christians in one fell swoop. It is only those silly Reformationists who think the universe started at something like T-6000.

Pre Darwin, the Bible was the primary source of information about history and it caused all sorts of mayhem, especially when stone axes were found, leading to a non biblical concept of stone age. Druids were dragged in to explain all sorts of stuff, as were various relatives of Noah alleged to have got all over Britain. Jesus at Glastonbury (with Madonna of course) is a similar idea. |
