Surely not all of these artifacts are frauds. . .

The question is simply why not, since this is completely consistent with the rest of the evidence. (ie: we do not appear to have anything which is securely described as authentic). There are literally hundrdeds of other instances of fraud surrounding the controversy over "christian origins". They are now found in the most unlikely places. One of the oldest greek inscriptions cited as evidence of the (purported) existence of christianity in the third century, sourced from the generations of christian archaeologists which have trodden the "Holy Lands" in search of such testimonial relics ---- is now located in a mosque.

And this -- in the light of, say, the Dome of the Rock on the Temple mount and The Church of the Holy Wisdoms transformation by Muslims into Hagia Sophia -- is odd why?
