Lightbulb Turkey=Unique Secular Country Among Muslim Countries

Everyone says that %99 of turkish citizens are muslim.

This is a big lie!

Because, when a baby was born in turkey, the family goes to population registry office and register their baby to the office. And officers writes "islam" in the section of "religion" on baby's identity card without asking anyone!
So, when we look at religious statistics, we see that %99 of turks are muslim!

If this baby wants to change the phrase "islam" on his ID card when he grew up, he has to bring a suitcase! In other words, nobody changes religion phrase on his ID card without going to court!
This is infringment of freedom of faith!

I think, there are many atheists in turkey.First of all, there are about 20-25 million "alevi". And almost %90 of alives are godless! In addition to this, there about 15 million leftist and Kemalists.Almost all of this group are atheist too.

According to many authors, only %65 of Turkish population are muslim..

By the way, "Ebu Leheb" is an arabic name. Ebu Leheb was an enemy of Mohammed acording to history of Islam.

Turkey is the most democratic, secular and developed muslim country.

Tabbat yada Abi Lahabin watabb… (Qur’an 111)

This looks more like a Secular Lifestyle thread, but I’m not sure.

Ebu, thank you for your interesting post and welcome to these boards. Could you please explain this term 'alevis'? I presume the remaining 1% of non-muslims (according to official statistics) are christians and jews?
