He was pretty good, but Felipe and Matty both had better batting averages and fielding percentages overall.

Which Jesus?

(I can't believe I'm the first to post that.)

Matthew's Jesus? Paul's Jesus? Gnostic Jesus?

IMO, if he existed, he was a rabbi with a political agenda.

A two-bit revolutionary. Closer to Che Guevara, only more delusional (and less successful).

My goodness, what a series of put-downs. It is left to me, a non-believer to those who believe in organised religion, to lay down a challenge. Jesus, however he is characterised, was a great humanist, defender of social justice, exposer of hypocricy, visionary, and popular leader. The authentic sayings (which are only a fraction of what appears in the Gospels) contain among the most moving sentiments and ideas in civilised history, and have guided the development of modern humanism, which may still be the only eventual salvation for mankind.

We are giving opinions, right ? Well that's mine.

Most of the time, I think I could do without him. Although, recently I was at a party and we ran out of booze. I was thinking, "Gee, if Jesus was here, he could make us some more out of this pitcher of water". Only if he could make a nice chardonnay or merlot, though.

Does recorded history indicate if there were other "party deities"?
