Default What does God get out of worship?

In Christianity, what is the point of worship? What exactly does it accomplish for God?

A fellowship with His creation. He doesn't need worship, He justs wants to love His creation, and be loved in return. A large part of worship is more for us than God. By focusing on God above all us, it keeps us striving to be pure and live for Him, instead of living for ourselves and sin.

But the doctrine of Unlimited Forgiveness allows Christians to do whatever the hell they like and STILL get forgiven and go to heaven. It is flawed, and encourages sin. It doesn't do a damn thing to discourage it, because any 'fear' of god is now replaced with relief and 'repentance'.

God gets a big ego from his selfishness, there is no reason to worship anything.

Thanks for the reply.

Before this thread gets any larger, I feel we need a mutual definition of worship. This will dispel miscommunication and allow everyone involved to comment in reference to the same idea. I, personally, am bedazzled as to what people are actually 'doing' when they are worshipping.

What is worship?

It strokes his pathetic, insecure ego.

Nothing.

It might be useful to *us*, and thus indirectly useful to God, who values us, but I don't think He gets anything out of it. Except, perhaps, some mild joy of association.

What do I get from my cat sitting on my lap and purring? Nothing, but it makes me happy anyway.

If it makes you happy, you get pleasure out of it.

If God is a subject infinitely worthy of consideration, as insisted on by theists, he should've created human worshipping machines. In fact, it was unethical not to.

Following my original direction for this inquiry into Christian 'mechanics', I need to expand the OP to include a couple of other questions.

Along with "What is worship?", a necessary query "Does God demand worship from a person for that person to enter heaven?" needs to be answered before I can continue with my idea.

Are there any Christians on this forum who can answer these for me?
