Inclined to agree with this accessment. The story really isn't about religion. If it wasn't "Satan," it would have been something or someone else.

Oh, shit. There's over 6 billion people on the planet. We can afford to loose a few on the road to hell. And Satan didn't even have the common courtesy to pick him up where he said he would. Shame, Satan, shame. What kind of world do we live in where a fallen angel won't keep his word.

I agree. I've seen post-partum psychosis and it's not very pretty! Poor lady and baby. Hope she gets proper treatment.
