Not only that, but if the ten plagues occured, that would have been the end of Egypt as a dominant power in the Middle East, and that did not happen.

Read what has been already said about this Dave here in this thread on this very forum you don't even have to leave your seat, but better yet read Kitchens work itself .
Any possible errors in Champillons work have long since been rectified Dave BY PROPER EGYPTOLOGISTS NOT HACK WRITERS OF SPECULATIVE FICTION

A proportion of slaves mentioned on ONE list that appear to have SEMITIC names note Dave NOT necessarily HEBREW just SEMITIC there is a difference. Also the fact that even IF they were Hebrew names does NOT automatically mean that every single person who was a Hebrew was a slave
There were slaves in the West Indies named Jones that does not mean the entire population of Wales were enslaved.

ALTERNATIVELY the abrupt end of the 13th Dynasty followed by foreign invasion exactly what we would expect if a war was lost to a foreign power .

Evidence of ONE mass grave in ONE town/city

This is the ONLY king named Khaneferre throughout the whole of pharaonic civilization. (Rohl, p. 283).
IF you move the goalposts to the right area after the fact , then that wild shot was in fact a goal

ONLY if 1) Joseph really existed, which is far from certain and for there is no historical/archaeological evidence ,
2)The palace and statue are of actually of Imhotep ,which is far from certain and for there is no historical/archaeological evidence ,
and 3) If Imhotep was actually Joseph which is far from certain and for there is no historical/archaeological evidence

Can you really not see how these "arguments " have failed Dave

And - refresh my memory - what would lead us to even hypothesize a connection between Imhotep and "Joseph"?

From what I have read, admittedly on Christian sites, the stories /legends of Imhotep and Joseph do have some similarities but then lots of legendary figures also have similar life stories and characteristics (I personally always have a problem with Theseus and Perseus in Greek mythology )
Advisor the the pharaoh ,architect, physician etc but others seem to claim that Khufu (Cheops) was Joseph using exactly the same "evidence".

Fascinating.
Similarities between Joseph and Imhotep are useful to show that archaeology supports the Books.
Similarities between Jesus and Mithras are only evidence of biased, christain-hating archaeologists trying to disprove the Books.

I forgot to mention that the whole Joseph =Imhotep also only works if you "conveniently " ignore lots and lots of actual history to place them both at the same place AT THE SAME TIME (i.e Rohl's messed up new chronology )

How do you figure that? They were invaded easily by a foreign power. Why is this invasion not a logical result of the 10 plagues?
