Hey, I hand-code all the hyperlinks in my blog (so they open in a new window) and most of the text formatting, and I customized the HTML in the template! And just today I typed <font color=$3300FF> several times because my blog software has limited text formatting. So there!

OK, goodie.

It doesn’t change the fact that the Blog format has as its raison d’être the phasing out of HTML. It’s the same as Wiki in that respect. I contribute to the Evolution Education Wiki, and I don’t usually use HTML there, but it’s nice to be able to code the HTML when I need it (that’s what I did to insert the tables for the geological timescale).

BTW, about

<font color=$3300FF>

The FONT tag is deprecated in HTML 4. The right way of specifying text colour is by using a stylesheet rule, eg:

<span style="color: #3300FF">

Calzaer: there was a REASON I wrote “fake link” on that post. Like, if you see “beware of the dog”, you ought to know there’s a dog that bites in that yard.

Godless Dave: cute, you’ve got your own domain name! I don’t know if I’ll be getting a domain name soon, but I’m thinking it’s high time I paid Geocities to take off those javascript-induced popup windows on all my pages.
