Why am I suddenly thinking of grace notes, you know those little musical flourishes that help musicians noodle up Classical and Baroque pieces just a bit...?

There is actually a thread on this at CF.

I agree with John Eldridge's major themes in 'Wild at Heart'. It's a shame that the article didn't provide a quote that shows how Eldridge puts boundaries around this movement.

I don't agree with how the GodMen is taking this to an extreme.

Hey rigs, what's the official Vatican position on the death penalty and/or killing in self defense? Someone in E&M got me curious.

Death Penalty: That it is allowed, but under circumstances so stringent that in practice it can almost never be done.

Self Defense: I couldn't really tell you, sorry.

Oh, BTW--we are confirmed for going to the Land of Enchantment between Christmas and New Years. More details to follow.

the enemy shall NOT be ignored...only savored for the right opportunity for vivisection. Lel doesn't come to mind in any implied discussion as the enemy by you or anyone else. But I did win two of my three youth games this WE!!

"Stine argues that the genteel facade of a Christian nice guy inhibits introspection and substitutes cliches for spiritual growth. GodMen is his attempt to encourage men to get real. His speakers admit to masturbation and adultery. A workshop called "Training the Penis" encourages men to talk openly about temptation and bond with guys who share their struggles.

Such honesty, Stine contends, molds better, more godly men than a typical Sunday service.

"We want to force you out of the safe places that have passed for spirituality," Stine says. "Maybe worship could be hanging out with a bunch of guys, admitting we like blowing crap up."
