...if we allowed posts like that at CF from staff members (the one that got reported), it won't be long before the members start really insulting each other and pretending it's all in jests by adding winkies, and they'll be able to link to your post as an example as to why it's acceptable. Or do you think that would be too low a tactic for the people you describe as slimy, disgusting, pathetic, underhanded and shallow?

IMO, because moderation of such things is by definition biased, such anarchy is a desired state. As Jefferson said "that government that governs best governs least."

I participated once on a board where the owner was, in addition to being a first class prick, a nervous nelly who tried to intervene whenever somebody got miffed. Needless to say that board is no more, which is good, because he was a scumbag who mishandled it.
