Lightbulb Do Semitic religions hate their own sects more than pagans?

It seems to be that way to me. Instead of brotherhood heretics from their own fold are treated far worse. They are more enthusiastic about slaughtering each other than in converting the heathen.

When the Portuguese came to India they immediately set up an Inquisition and the first victims were the native Christians to make them acknowledge the supremacy of the Pope. Hindus suffered too and were forcefully converted, but it is telling how more energy was directed to converting the Christians.
During Mughal period a Hindu could declare his religion even if subject to humiliation and fines. It was other Muslim sects which did not follow the current emperor’s sect that had to practice taiqqiya or lying about their faith. And whenever a preacher came back from Hajj they frothed more about other Muslims who have gone astray than about infidels.

Love is definitely in short supply, yet they expect pagans to convert to their religions because it is more loving (Christianity) and compassionate (Islam) :rolling:
