It's a common misunderstanding of the council of Nicea to think that the canon was established then - unless of course you're referring to the law firm that represented Eusebias.

Agreed. As Elaine Pagels has said, "The victors rewrote history, 'their way.'" Whoever best controls the copying, compilation, and dissemination of written records, and who has the most military power, has a big advantage over everyone else. The largest colonial empire in history by far that was conquered under a single religion was conquered by Christian nations by means of persecution, murder, and theft of property.
