Oh, and one other thing about this particular NDE that you linked. As I remember his story, this man was told that the bible should not be taken literally and that it doesn’t matter what you believe just as long as it gets you closer to god. Not exactly Christianity’s view, now is it?

"Before his near-death experience, Rev. Howard Storm, a Professor of Art at Northern Kentucky University, was not a very pleasant man. He was an avowed atheist and was hostile to every form of religion and those who practiced it. He often would use rage to control everyone around him and he didn’t find joy in anything. Anything that wasn’t seen, touched, or felt, he had no faith in. He knew with certainty that the material world was the full extent of everything that was. He considered all belief systems associated with religion to be fantasies for people to deceive themselves with. Beyond what science said, there was nothing else."

If said Mr. Storm was really as described above it is a good thing he is no longer an atheist. He could give atheists a bad name. Good riddance.

His description implies that if you have a major religious experience, you diametrically change your demeanor and social tendencies.

So, I generally consider myself a nice atheist. I help people that need it, I volunteer when I have time, I try to always be pleasant and have a kind word for everyone that I meet.

If I was to ever to have a near death experience and be saved by Jesus, does this mean that I would become rude, arrogant, egotistical and generally unhelpful and greedy?

Something important fundies don't mention or always forget about such experiences is that there are plenty of non-christian persons throughout the world that have lived NDE and have not experienced any kind of hell, and some even blissful states.
