Default Girl Expelled because Parents are Gay

http://www.365gay.com/newscon05/09/092305calSchool.htm

Granted this is a "Christian" school, but what does her parents private sexual life have to do with the girl's education?

So very sad. The parents wanted what was best for the child, and the school didn't.

Not that different from the their God punishing people for the sins of their for-fathers really. It shows that some Christian bigots can at least be consitant when it suits them

Honestly.

But what does it teach the child?

My problem is that a child who has seen her parents as loving and kind, now might look at them differently because she is being taught that God has no place in his heart for homosexuals. She's 14, and that's a very impressionable age.

It's just not logical. Not that bigots have any logic, just that it wouldn't make sense to punish the innocent for the sins of their fathers. (or in this case mothers)

Ah, the smell of stupidity in the morning...

Makes me glad I'm no longer a Christian so I don't have to try to excuse away this evil behavior on their parts.

*whew* That child has been spared indoctrination by bigots. She'll miss her friends, but that school taught her more about "Christianity" than she could have learned in her religion classes!

I don't understand what the sexuality of the parents has to do with the ability of the school to educate the child.

But on the other side, given the blatant and open publicized opinions of the Roman Catholic Church against homosexuality, why would lesbian parents enroll their teenager in a Roman Catholic school? They want her to be taught in a religious school that their lifestyle is immoral?? I'm confident that would happen.

That part of it doesn't make any sense to me.

Are they using their daughter to create a public situation? I have no issue with homosexuality, but I'm bothered by people using their children to publicly promote their personal agendas. I wonder if that is part of what is going on here.

This story is an outrage.

And people wonder why we are so against this type of hateful bigotry. Hopefully the awful treatment by this school will inspire this girl to fight homophobia and religious intolerance wherever it rears its ugly head for the rest of her life.

These types of christian literally make me sick to my stomach.

I reckon that puts the lie to the Christian mantra "Love the sinner, hate the sin."

And the school apparently doesn't hold to these words:

"Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God."

I suspect that she's more likely to look askance on the religion that won't accept her rather than look askance on her parents. She's probably known her parents for most of her life, and been in the school for oly a couple of years.

It's probably the best school in the area. Regardless of the fact that Catholics view their lifestyle as immoral, they probably wanted to send their child to the best school near to where they live.
