				 | Papal Miracles

If we assume that Peter was the first Pope, at leat according to Catholic Tradition, and that that he was a miracle worker, and that the subsequent Popes received their power and authority from Peter, did those early Popes make claims of working miracles? I am looking for links or references to early church literature where a Pope performed a documented and witnessed miracle. Also, any literature that says that anyone after the death/time of the apostles performed a documented and witnessed miracle. |

The popes claim they hold ecclesiastical authority, not miraculous powers. I've never heard of any papal miracles. Maybe there are some but I can't recall any.

I couldn't recall any pope purporting to any miracles. I was just curious. You would think that God's Hand on Earth would be able to heal a few sick people. The follow up to me, of course, is why would the miracles stop with Peter? Afterall, they didn't stop with the death of Jesus. Thanks. |
