I'm a wee bit confused now about what the topic of this thread is, but I just wanted to add to the above: what is the big deal with Christ's suffering and "sacrifice"? Yes it was a horrible way to die, but look at what he was getting out of it:
- His death meant that humans, whom he loved so much, were forgiven of their sins and were getting the chance at eternal life in heaven, apparently a rather nice place. - He himself was going to heaven to spend eternity with his dad. - His death was going to become so famous, people are still worshipping him 2000 years later. What a way to go! I honestly think that most people would agree to a few hours of pain and then death and 2 days in hell if they sincerely believed (and Jesus is God, so he knew all this for a fact - no faith involved) that they would get these eternal rewards. |
