But I am sure there must be people here who believe in an historical Holy Ghost. And even if at the end of the day such a belief cannot be deemed to be anything other than a non universal and individual psychological compulsion, then we need to address the "Psychological Jesus" and fit this into the overall picture. We may be dealing with conditioned minds.

I am NOT really posting to stop people from believing whatever they wish to believe. I am just simpy showing the the MJ THEORY is far superior to the HJ theory.

The Gospel story, the Good News, is directly dependent on the resurrection of Jesus and that it was witnessed by the disciples and "Paul".

Editorial Review

Carl Jung said
"What happens in the life of Christ happens always and everywhere. In the Christian archetype all lives of this kind are prefigured. "
The Christian Archetype presents a much-needed psychological interpretation of images and events central to the Christian myth, which may be understood symbolically in terms of the individuation of modern men and women. The process of individuation, when it befalls a person, may lead to salvation or calamity.

The reader will find in the pages of The Christian Archetype an ordered and grpahic amplifiction of this archetypal process. In prose and in pictures carefully selected from traditional Christian art, Edward Edinger illustrates some essential stages (from Annunciation through Crucifixion to Resurrection) both in the life of Christ and in those who by choice or fate become immersed in their own psychological destiny. The Christian Archetype is a valuable addition to the growing body of Jungian literature. -- Midwest Book Review
It does say "central to the Christian myth ....

In the NT Canon the authors of gLuke and gJohn have even gone beyond showing that there were WITNESSES to the non-historical resurrection but have added further "confirmation" that the non-historical resurrection was NOT an hallucination but that the resurrected Jesus was given food to eat and that he DID EAT.

Jesus did EAT FISH and honeycomb in a non-historical resurrected state.

Luke 24
Quote:
38 And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and why do thoughts arise in your hearts?

39 Behold my hands and my feet, that it is I myself, handle me, and see, for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye see me have.

40 And when he had thus spoken, he shewed them his hands and his feet.

41 And while they yet believed not for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here any meat?

42 And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish, and of an honeycomb.

43 And he took it, and did eat before them.
The resurrected MYTH Jesus ate food.

But, the resurrected Myth would also COOK Fish. See John 21.9-12.
Quote:
9 As soon then as they were come to land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid thereon, and bread. 10 Jesus saith unto them, Bring of the fish which ye have now caught........12 Jesus saith unto them, Come and dine.
The gospel, the Good News needs the resurrected MYTH Jesus to eat FISH and Honeycomb to "confirm" that the MYTH was not an hallucination.

JESUS was a REAL MYTH.
