Constantly we hear this thing about "oh, it's out of context". There is a sort of chopped up version of the bible that feeds it to the reader in digestible daily chunks with a bit of supporting babble, they obviously sell well, so why aren't the buyers stopping short and saying "oh, but that's out of context, I can't buy that!!!" (?) :huh:

Probably because they trust that fellow Christians won't take something out of context. It's the big mean infidels who would misrepresent the perfect Word of God.

Context often follows the following rule:

If I like it, context is irrelevant, while if I don't like it, it is quoted out of context.

Just like:

If I like it, it's literal, while if I don't like it, it's allegorical.
