Disagreed? Tel Dan and the discussion of Jesus about paradise are exactly to my point - there are probably many many more examples.

I'm not sure what you think that you are saying; however the assertion that the introduction of punctuation caused wild variations in manuscript readings is one that, if you are serious, you need to document from the manuscripts.

I have two examples Tel Dan and Paradise. Philosopher Jay pointed out we cannot be certain about capitalisation - christ or annoint.
That is three huge ones without even researching things in depth! |

1) One is a verb and the other a proper noun. Syntacically it would be clear which is which. 2) Christ frequently appears as a nomen sacrum removing all doubt. 3) Capitalization, the use of upper and lower case, was such a late development that the text would would have been well-known enough that such errors would be virtually impossible. There are lots of scribal errors and many reasons for them, this would not be one of them. Julian |

Why is it a google search of nomen sacrum finds scholastic articles questioning if a nomen sacrum is a nomen sacrum?
For example: http://journals.cambridge.org/action...ine&aid=361071 What did Umberto Eco say about translation and interpretation? For example: http://www.themodernword.com/eco/eco_author.html |

Not sure, but try the plural which is how it is normally seen: nomina sacrum.
