Default The Christian 'afterlife'....

So what does one do in Heaven? Is it an eternity of worshipping God? Why doesn't the Bible contain a thorough explanation of what heaven is?

IMO I think it's believers think is a large flat platform in the sky. Kind of like the Jetson's house I guess without all the gadgets.
I bit like what people of ancient times imagined their "flat earth" look like.

The closest the Bible ever gets is the "New Jerusalem" in the Book of Revelation -- one will wear a white robe and sing hymns all day.

Boy, I hope that guy's not wrong. It would make him a false prophet.

In other news, who's going to clean the mansions?

1. So what does one do in Heaven? Is it an eternity of worshipping God?

DO should be replaced by BE. God 'worship' may not be correct either because, imo, the souls eventually re-incorporate with the ALL THAT IS. Worshipping oneself is not on, imo.

2. Why doesn't the Bible contain a thorough explanation of what heaven is?

Because imo, Christ was the only biblical character to have seen heaven and his teachings and messages were somehow expediently contorted to suit Jewish practices and tradition.

Well I know I have done this one before but-------what the hell.

There is a very obvious omission about what heaven will be like in the Bible. I assume that was done on purpose. (a lot of description of hell however)

Anyway--- the obvious conclusion because of this omission is that heaven is anything you want it to be-----and certainly on the pleasant side. And most probably on the "hot damn ain't this great" side.

Whatever you want you get. Marriage is disallowed (thank God) so there will be a free for all sex party----with no possibility of either disease or ensuing snotty nosed brats to take care of.

If you want 72 virgins then that is what you get------altho I think virgins are a waste of time. Most men will prefer very horny and very experienced 35 year old women. And most women will prefer very horny and very inexperienced 16 year old boys.

Whatever you want ---that is what you get. If you want to watch football games on the telly all day long and eat chips and drink beer---that is what you get.

Of course everyone will live in mansions----that is in the Bible. And I assume that any mansion worth its salt will have all the latest accouterments. 65 inch digital HDTV with 3000 channels---a freezer stocked with all the most divine steaks-----a wine cellar stocked for eternity with celestial wine. Of course a personal sauna and hot tub. And a 3 car garage to dink around in.

Heaven will be all the good booze and great food you can eat----and you will never get fat. You will have abs and pecs to die for and never get off the couch. You will be able to screw all day long and have never ending orgasms if that is your desire.

Heaven will be entertainment all day and night long.

Aren't you all just dying to convert to Christianity? ------------- Such a deal.

Somebody show me that, per the Bible, my version of heaven is impossible with Christianity. Don't think you can do it.

Also known as false advertising, without any evidence for what the product promises.

If you're asking Rational? Depends on what the Holy Spirit is telling him at any given moment as to whether it's inerrant or not.
