If you are talking about Sunnism and Shiaism....there should be no problems....I have studied both doctrines...they are both theologicalically compatible with only differences in politics.....
They fight now - therefore they would still fight if the two of them ruled the world. Therefore your ridiculous utopian myth is demonstrably false.

Ummm, because Taliban-style Islam is busy trying to take over the world right now, and because what few Muslim intellectuals there are don't have the guts to stand up to them?

'Cause muslim women are all about proselytization, right? They're just carriers of the infectious disease? Sheesh; you make the situation sound like a cheap re-make of "Invasion of the Body Snatchers."

RE: the bold part above - says who? You?

The cover article of TIME magazine (last week) was on precisely this conflict in Islam.

Might want to check it out, before making such a statement.

Might want to check out "The Trouble With Islam" by Irshad Manji (see her Web site at www.muslimrefusenik.org).

If more Muslim intellectuals ARE finally standing up to troglodyte-style Islam, though, more power to'em. Let's just hope it's not far, far too late.

Default Dark ages

As long as a majority of humans continue to believe in the "gods" their traditions have handed them, the dark ages continue.

It doesn't matter if it's Allah or Jehovah or Shiva or Zeus.

One mind virus is just as insidious as the next.

Why Irshad Manji? She seems to be something of an oddball amongst the Islamic World? A Zionist Lesbian *Muslim with a Jewish girlfriend ...who refuses to call herself an ex-Muslim? I'm not the only one that thinks shes a little too unusual to use as the definitive guide to Islam. Check out customer reviews on Amazon.

* not that I have anything against lesbians.

I'm just saying that her views are in no way representative of the average Muslim. Secondly, If you ever read her book , you would realize that she is not hesitant about attacking Muslim countries but she has a glowing view of everything related to Israel, to the point of exaggeration.

Read her book Judge for yourself, guys.
