Ksskidude, you might try telling people that you credit your recovery to the Invisible Pink Unicorn (Peace Be Upon Her Holy Hooves!)

You may want to read about WinAce, who died of cystic fibrosis last November. He was only 20- but he packed more life into those years than many with 4 or 5 times his span.

Ksskidude, if you haven't seen this thread, I think you might have something positive to contribute.

WRT insane comments by people, I don't come across many god-botherers, & most of them are of the "We'll pray for you" type, which I can be gracious about. (I'm a wheelchair user; I don't have a diagnosis.) But I do come across some seriously weird folks occasionally. One woman really took the biscuit. She stopped me in the street. Now, if she'd accidentally bumped into me, or fallen over me, I would just have assumed she was flustered & not thinking. But she deliberately stopped me, to tell me that I was so brave and wonderful and that if she had to be in a wheelchair she'd kill herself.

I muttered something about "Oh, I'm sure you wouldn't", but no, she insisted, she would. I extricated myself as quickly as possible after that. I've never seen her before or since, thankfully.

Of course, hindsight is 20/20. Current possible responses are "Really? Would you like to borrow it for ten minutes?" or "Thank you for your great insight. My options are indeed putting up with this or topping myself. Now please go away."

Some people.

People who think ksskidude is so beloved by Jesus should follow his example, do what Jesus so likes about him, and turn into atheists.

Unbelievable. What a rude, self-centered moron.
