Of course you are calling Jesus a liar since He existed, was spoken and written about a lot both in the body of Christ and without, thus you are calling Him a liar. It is like me saying, your parents never existed, even though many people have had contact with your parents and could prove their existence. In the same is it with Christ, the ulltimate partent (John 1.1) who created you.

Calling Him a liar is what you do so that is what hell is for.

Notice the bit of your quote that I have made bold.

I am saying that I do not believe these people who wrote and spoke about him.

Can you see the difference between believing what person A says and believing what person B claims that person A says?

Let's see if another example works.

George W. Bush said "I am not really human. I am an alien from the Betelgeuse system and I have come here to drink the blood of virgins."

Do you think George W. Bush was lying when he said that?

Or do you think I was lying when I claimed that he said it?

That is our position about Jesus.

We are not saying that Jesus did not tell the truth. We are saying that the stories other people tell us about Jesus are not true - and therefore that the things they claim Jesus said and did did not happen.

But the existence of my parents is a logical necessity, since a person cannot fail to have parents. The same cannot be said for Jesus.

But to use your analogy, you say that many people could prove the existence of my parents.

That is what I am asking for. You need to prove to me the existence of Jesus (or at least demonstrate beyond reasonable doubt - I am not asking for strict logical proof here), and that he did in fact say the things that people claim he said.

If what you say is true, then it shouldn't be difficult for you to provide some proof (or even evidence) that the person who wrote the Gospel of John was reporting facts.

As I have said repeatedly, we do not call him a liar. We simply do not believe the stories written about him by other people.

Even if he did exist, he was then just a man, yet another teacher and preacher, an itinerant moraliser, like many others at that time. We do not worship any of them,- they are not gods. It does not matter to an atheist whether he existed or not. There is no first hand evidence, only stories.
Also, I am very perplexed: can you explain why God, as in the OT, was always punishing wicked sinners, and throwing his weight around smiting all and sundry,-but then suddenly decides he is bored doing that, and instead will become a victim of these sinners whom he had only recently been smiting,-by getting himself crucified by them?
