Well you seem to be switching every other post of whether there should be "NO" taxes or "REGRESSIVE" taxes. If it wasn't for taxes you wouldn't even be posting this in the first place.

Also, Mediancat, out of curiousity, why is this in Elsewhere instead of PD?

I think they have a new thread-moving algorithm based on the total number of exclamation points in the text.

PS. Mediancat, I don't have that song in my collection, you big meany. It's going to be stuck for days.

Oh, on topic: what's a regressive (oh, pardon me, it's spelled REGRESSIVE) tax?

A regressive tax is a tax that taxes a higher percentage of the income of the poor than the rich.

I, for one, would like to see a definition of "state" which proves and is compatible with this assertion.

Or not. Really, it doesn't make a difference, since I'm on the opposite side of the "taxes, God, that is like, so unfair" debate.

I LIKE paying TAXES!! It BENEFITS my COMMUNITY and pays for PROJECTS and SERVICES which would be PROHIBITIVELY EXPENSIVE for individuals TO finance!!! TAXES are what put the GREAT in GREAT BRITAIN!!!!1

hm, goodbye clean water then. and if there are no water works, those fire services are going to be having fun. Oh yeah, and when the buildings burn down because the water works have been neglected by private enterprise in the less profitable areas, who's going to take care of the dead and injured? No, no public hospitals, they have to pay private fees. can't afford it? go elsewhere. So, these people living in the poorer end of town with no water, have now been given 3rd degree burns over 50% of their body and can't afford health care. They can't work, so they now have no income. No income? no food. No food? darn, well, sorry, we just got rid of the welfare system. You'll have to survive on rats now, if you can find them. insects are probably a better bet.

And then hello, third world country!

yeah, great strategy meritocrat.

But they wouldn't agree with getting rid of all income taxes or welfare!

I'm not a Conservative, I'm a libertarian!!
