Default Posts of the month: June 2006

Many good messages are posted here in the Evolution/Creation forum, but they are mostly doomed to be lost in the clutter. So here is a thread for the Posts of the Month, as a way of indexing some nice posts before they sink down the forum.

The idea is that this may encourage (even more) thoughtful and articulate posts among our members, and be a way of acknowledging the effort of those who make them. So, if you encounter a message that seems to say something of special substance and / or is really informative, please give it a plug / reference in this thread.

So you can find these PotM threads easily, there is a post linking to them in the 'Start Here' sticky at the top of the forum.

Some guidelines:

One-liners and short quips, no matter how amusing, are unsuitable, as are arguments that are subsequently withdrawn or thoroughly dismantled later in the thread... so please don't bother nominating them. No debates about the post's subject here -- that's what the original threads are for. Oh, and no nominating of your own posts .

This thread will be locked at the end of the month, and a new one started. The forum moderators reserve the right to edit the final, 'archived' contents. But the idea is for you, the forum members, to compile what you think is the cream of the crop for future reference. Have at it!

********

Please post your nominations for the June 2006 Posts of the Month here.

Include author, thread title, post title if there is one, and a link to it in context. For example:
Quote:
Name: Per Ahlberg

Thread: Does micro-evolution lead to macro-evolution?

Post: Why Methodological Naturalism is unavoidable
(To link to a specific post: right-click on the larger number at the top-right corner of the post, click Copy Shortcut (IE) / 'Copy Link Location' (Firefox) / your browser's equivalent to that, and paste that into the PoTM post.)

A short comment -- what the post was about, or reason for nominating it -- would also be useful. But this is not a place to debate the referenced topic, so be nice.

Post...mirage explaining on evolutionary pathways

Thread...The IC Challenge to Evolution

I apreciate the time and dedication put into that post, it also helped me understand things better and it was a very satisfactory answer the question I asked.

Post: Valz providing his summary of his readings on irreducible complexity.

Thread: The IC Challenge to Evolution.

Valz does a superb job of demonstrating curiousity about a phenomenon, doing the recommended reading about it, and learning from it. Great!
