I think I've heard army units start using it too. The Marines traditionaly say Oooh-Rah That I know was taken from the Brits saying "hooray" back in colonial times but with their accent it came out ooo-rah so now Marines say ooo-rah. The army didn't have a battle cry so some seem to have made 'woot' there own.

Recently I heard Bush address an Army unit and every time he'd say something they were suppossed to like a few (certainly not all) would let out an unmotivating high pitched "woooooot" that sort of sounded like well, I can't describe it. It was a pitiful and sickly sound to say the least. But it seems to mostly be one of the internet things for online shooting games. pwnage is another (the p is actually a mouth with the tongue sticking out). leet (short for 'I'm elite' i think) . |
