Yes... I think there may be an issue of context here. LP and I never had Net Admin access to make ChanServ say what it said. What was bizarre was what CM did.

Whilst they did not shut down the room per se, it was quite obviously their actions and antics there at the end that caused the room to be shut down.

'tis a moot point now, though, surely. You got a nice shiny new chatroom now, I understand.

No, it really wasn't.

I have logs of at least three times when CM shut the room down.

It was, uhm... Not typically for what would be considered sound reasons.

"Nov 11 14:49:51 <CM-Away> I have no emotions ask anyone.... so mine weren't involved"

I have never, ever, found people who claim not to have emotions to be emotionally stable. He repeatedly reacted with mass bans to harmless jokes or just things that might, from an objective standard, have been a little tiny bit weird or rude.

He picked that fight.

Nothing has changed but the server. And CM and Matt's absence.

seebs, I really like you. So I'll just say that I respectfully disagree with you. From the logs I've read and the things that were said about him and the situation while I was in there (and since he was lurking in there, he no doubt saw them too - and of course this no doubt went on while I wasn't around) I've no doubts as to why the channel was shut down finally and whose fault it is, whether they are going to take responsibility for their actions or not.

I just don't like that fact that I got banned for being in the room, I doubt very much I contributed to any problem as I was asleep when I was banned.

Hostile lurking perhaps?

I certainly agree that questionable things were done and said about CM after this all started, but... I've heard enough other stories of CM getting pissy with people over imagined slights, or even about real but trivial ones... Most admins have thicker skins than that.

I'm banned! I'm banned! I'm somebody now! Sheesh, after reading over some of the posted transcripts, _somebody_ (CM) seriously needs some SSRI's. I'll hunt around here or SecLife for the latest channel and mosey on over.

The java chat is at http://secularlife.org/chat.html. I think we should just start with a clean slate and forget about the old chat. CM has stated that he doesn't care whether we move or not so it doesn't hurt him any. Almost all the chatters are either happy or neutral regarding the move, let's go with the majority vote.

I'd like it if Juiblex/Novowels/DH came too though. We don't talk all that much, but it'd suck if we lost touch.

Besides, I can't rejoin original chat even if I wanted to.

And Brain too. Don't forget Brain.
