Moreover, also by reason of their sacred Ordination, the ordinary ministers of Holy Communion are the Bishop, the Priest and the Deacon, [255] to whom it belongs therefore to administer Holy Communion to the lay members of Christ’s faithful during the celebration of Mass. In this way their ministerial office in the Church is fully and accurately brought to light, and the sign value of the Sacrament is made complete.
How, exactly, do rafters become involved? Do tell.
My priest specifically asked me to be an EMHC. I agreed & did so. The only problem was that there were many that thought only the priest should give out communion.

This is impossible with the amount of people at every Mass & all the others that are sick, etc.

Basically, I was defiling the Eucharist by doing so. Doing a horrible deed. Blah, blah.

I now have a weekly ministry that I do from it with those that are dejected, mentally ill, sick or dying.

But that is besides the point.

Being an EMHC is just a hellish thing to do. :Cheeky:

You mean seebs, you were reticent about confronting Cathofascist because you felt like OBOB had given him the template for his ideology??

"That's a load of Catholic crap"

~ Fr. Jim de Bruycker.

He said that last Sunday and I've just been repeating it to myself all week.

But is Catholic crap more holy than just the average protestant crap?

We can talk crap...but we must define the dogma of crap.

Is it beyond them, Michie, that this brilliant manifesto might be integral in the Living Church and that anything less would be stifling at best, downright exclusive at worst?

Jesus & Paul had a problem with stifling & exclusive also.

Peter had to have the revelation in a dream....

Oh well, you get the drift.

Yeah. And it's supposed to be a *safe* place for Catholics to fellowship. If certain kinds of Catholics don't feel safe there, and don't get to be themselves in fellowship, what good is that forum for them?

No, it's just that after seeing some of the stuff that goes on in OBOB, I had a hard time being sure that he wasn't maybe a real Catholic. I mean, sure, he called the Pope an atheist, championed Hitler's justifiable actions against the Jews, and so on... But really, is he that much further out than some of the really mean folks in OBOB?
