Indifferent, as Epicurus proved.

Strange... a God who mouths Golden Rules and forgiveness, then invented Hell; who mouths morals to other people and has none himself; who frowns upon crimes yet commits them all; who created man without invitation, then tries to shuffle the responsibility for man's acts upon man, instead of honorably placing it where it belongs, upon himself; and finally with altogether divine obtuseness, invites this poor, abused slave to worship him! – Mark Twain

If a god exists, no-one on this planet knows anything about it.

Well, if he answers prayers, then of course he must get involved. I look at the Christian God as a sort of cosmic window washer. If you are washing a clear window, you have a sort of moral omniscience in that small sphere, in that you can see where the dirt and smudges are. So you take out your squeegy (or whatever) and in answer to some prayers or requests begin clearing away some dirt on the window. Of course you can see the dirt all over the clear window in the places that you are not cleaning. If a window cleaner cleaned just one tiny corner of the window, and only cleaned that if repeatedly begged in a wheedling way, needless to say he'd be deemed a remarkably incompetent window cleaner, as he can see the remaining smudges and could with very little power clean them with little trouble.

What excuses would you accept from him? "I left the smudges because with a bunch of smudges you'll appreciate the clear spots a lot more" or maybe "Hey, you didn't ask me in the right way to clear ALL the smudges". As a building manager you would realize that the washer somewhere along the line made a conscious decision to leave the dirt.

He would be incompetent, illogical, and a plain old asshole. Fire the washer.
Yes, I'm afraid there's no excusing Him, whichever way you look at it.

This thread seems to me to be a Reductio ad absurdum concerning the Existence of God, so I think that forum is better suited to it.

I wasn't aware God needed an excuse. For what? Creating such an awesome cosmos?

But what about the earth? That is where we live, not out in the cosmos. If God created Hurricane Katrina and sent it to New Orleans, he definitely needs an excuse for doing that.
