Well, you've given me reason to step back and consider more carefully what I'm saying and the potential reactions would be. That's probably to the good.

Take care.

First and foremost my motivations are purely personal. You see I get angry and very frustrated when CF staff does this sort of thing. The lies are rampant and easily documented. Documenting them helps me to not blow and and earn myself a ban.

Moreover it provides an outlet, vicariously, for members who are abused and put upon by, what appears to be, a minority of staff.

Furthermore it chronicles these abuses and counters the claims that these are the exception and not the rule. Staff has claimed, repeatedly, that there are not cover ups, that staff doesn't lie to the members, and so on.

It also serves as a call to repentance for those involved in the abuses, cover ups, witch hunts, and so on. It proves their precious confidentiality does nothing more than serve to protect themselves and not the members. It is a call for change and repentance.

I limit myself to one post about staff a week so that I do not fall into the trap of being obsessed over the issue. I don't go to CF daily anymore but the fact remains it is the largest "Christian" forum on the web. I use the double quotes because for a Christian organization the very fact that they have more deconversions than conversions speaks volumes. I want to see the damage stopped, the persecution over with, and the secrecy blown open.

My reasons are those, at least as an overview, and they are generally more complicated than a simple post can explain.

I used to love it. And then every jackass in the world thought they would be original and ask me if any of my kids were named Harry or if we were going to name the new baby Harry. I can't even stand the name any longer. I wish they would have never tried to be clever. Now I can't stand to read certain good books and watch certain alright movies.

I hate when people ruin things we enjoy. Catcher in the Rye used to be my fave book. Then when we *had* to read it in my English class my freshman year of high school, my teacher ruined it. He was actually an idiot who ruined several things I used to enjoy. I haven't been able to read Catcher in the Rye since then. Good thing To Kill A Mockingbird wasn't read in his class, so it can still have a safe place in my heart.

flesh, I appreciate your blog posts. CF staff has always kept a record of member abuses, yet the members have no way of keeping a record of staff abuses. Your blog, and seeb's blog, is a good way of record keeping.

I'd like to see a blog written about rnmomof7's comment that seeb's marriage is not valid. Mainly because I seriously doubt her vindictive words will ever be deleted. Never ever. And, because her post is a perfect example of staff abusing the members. And is also a perfect example of the Exec's looking the other way, pretending her words are not a flame.

I am thinking about doing a serious discussion of the history of obsession with sexual morality at CF, including this as an example. There's quite a bit of evidence to be had, but some of it will get complaints from staff who didn't mean to be quoted.
