One thing I have noticed is that if they do not have moderation to support them, "right-wingers" quickly turn into real people.

Or they just go away.

I've eaten from Pats, and I've eaten from Sasha's Gourmet (a van that parks near the Penn campus), but I've never had a Tony Lukes.

Yeah. Take people out of the power struggle, and they start interacting as people. Once it's clear that they can't "beat" other people, either they stay and interact, or they walk off.
