I get the feeling that the people who set up these boards came from a predominantly Christian background. It is silly to have a "Non-Abrahamic" board and not to have an "Abrahamic" board. I noticed this within an hour of signing up here, am I the first to make the point?

Not only the people who set up IIDB but I suspect the majority of those who participate and certainly the majority of those who participate in this forum. I think that is why there are so few threads focusing on the Quran and so few people who participate in those that are created.

I think that is a shame, since Islam really is the strongest religion now, Christianity is fairy weak there are not really any powerful countries ruled by Christianity (USA is freer than any Islamic country with regards beliefs, even if you do have a dipshit leader).

I think people should be thinking more globally than people here seen to be, particularly a lot of you Americans!

A monotheistic area with specific religion subsections? Does the board need the equivalent of a Dewey?

Islam the strongest religion? Rather depends upon what you mean by 'strongest'. He who shouts loudest is not necessarily strong and as for shear numbers Hinduism and Buddhism have a 'strong' claim. Christian countries are on the decline, with the notable exception of the USA. On the other hand, secular societies are growing ever stronger as we speak.

Perhaps the problem with Islam is that it consists of a 'book' cobbled together from a complete mishmash of unrelated texts, barely understood by their coagulators, over a period of several centuries and purported to having been written by a person whose only redeeming characteristic is the very high probability that he never existed.
