And, playing of what you are implying, would they say that because they have a "scientist" in the family, they are experts in science? JG |

You quoted it in the same message you asked the question:

All the actors performed exceptionally well, even the unlikable ones. The main Pharisee was amazing. The blind man can only be described as superb. The girl at the Jewish wedding during the opening miracle was hot and yet wholesome. The aging Sanhedrin were done to a tee. the costumes and music were authentic and convincing. My favourite character was John the Baptist. I always like JB, but I thought no one could top Charlton Heston. Even Michael York was excellent, but quite different, and he didn't have the manly 'Ben Hur' balls of Heston in the role. But the wild man of Borneo they found for the new John Baptist was breathtaking. I was ready to get baptized on the spot. You'd think there could be no plot surprises. But the fellow playing Jesus delivered his lines so convincingly that I completely understood the dynamics of the entire set of confrontations with the authorities. He was rivetting, and it was the first time I've seen a convincing explanation for why Jesus was arrested and crucified played out on the big screen. The most gripping and moving Jesus-scene was when a frustrated Jew from the crowd snapped and actually locked his hands around Jesus' neck: Literally gripping, and a total surprise (not expected from the Gospel script). There were many similar but to my mind not as startling surprises in the screen interpretation. The movie is well worth watching, even if you've read John's Gospel a hundred times in five languages (like me). The most exciting thing about this movie is it plays even better, the second and third time you play it. I was able to watch it 3 times in a row without losing any interest at all. Each time I was able to appreciate the crafting of supporting characters even better. They cast John the Evangelist (the disciple whom Jesus loved) so well, I practically cried with him. But the scene of the Woman Taken in Adultery was the best version I've seen ever. The version in the Greatest Story Ever Told was dramatic and moving, especially in the interaction of the 'devil' behind the scenes, but not true to the story. This new performance is heart-tearing. You really identify with the woman and care what happens. They were able to make parts of John come alive in a primitive and powerful way. Anyone who likes the book of John and doesn't see this movie is insane. |

If you are going to avoid copyright problems, how about at least identifying the movie? I gather it is The Gospel of John,

If you just joined us, all of Nazaroo's movie stills (and every other image he posted from http://cadesign.webworkercanada.com/ ) have been replaced with those yellow boxes that say "click here now" but don't do anything. Perhaps he will explain.

I think either Toto is experiencing something unique to his own crappy internet service, or maybe the US govt. is interfering with what Americans are allowed to view (again). Since I am not in the USA right now, I am having no problems with the internet at all. Thats what you get when you support a bunch of Texas oilmen with IQs of < 90 to run the country. As to the future of the USA, I think it was prophesied well in the new movie "Idiocracy". Idiocracy Intro <-- Click here. |

This results in you experiencing the APPEARANCE of being connected to the rest of the world, while in reality you are probably getting a delayed and intermittent feed from foreign countries. The 'yellow box' placeholders are a cheap way of cacheing without storing images (space intensive). We have real high-speed here in Canada, cause Canada doesn't give a fuck what we watch. There simply aren't enough mounties to beat down the Indians and harrass bikers and at the same time police the general population. We work on an honour system here. People do their taxes voluntarily. God knows why. |
