				 | Help with App for Biblical Criticism

Not sure if anyone can help, but there are a lot of bibles and apps for my iPad, but can anyone who also has one suggest a good one that would help with discussions like those in this forum. I have the Olive Tree bible reader and some of the free bibles/commentaries, but there is nothing I'd consider scholarly. Has anybody used this or one of the others available and can recommend it as useful? My preference is for some bible that is reasonably accurate in translation, and notes/concordances/etc. I'm still working my way around how to use the concordances (Strongs mainly - it's used a lot, is it the best?) so I probably am not sure of what else might be useful. Thanks for any help or suggestions anyone can give. |

If I am not mistaken this site uses the Oxford Annotated Edition with Apochcyra I could be wrong though and I do not know if this is available for an IPad app or not. I use the NLT Study Bible myself. You might want to consider a good Bible dictionary and a Bible Commentary but thats just my suggestion some one here may have a better one.

I can't speak for the Greek Testament but assuming you don’t read Hebrew I really think you ought to get a good Hebrew to English translation of the Hebrew Bible. J.P.S. does a good one, so does Art Scroll, and there is a fair on line verison in the Chabad.Org site that includes the commentary of Rashi. Getting the Hebrew to English in Christian Bibles is problematic and sometimes I doubt the mistranslation are accidental. Steve |
