Did Jesus cursed himself ???


Help me out with this one.


On one hand we have Deut 21:22-23 : 22And if a man have committed a sin
worthy of death, and he be to be put to death, and thou hang him on a
tree: 23His body shall not remain all night upon the tree, but thou
shalt in any wise bury him that day; (for he that is hanged is accursed
of God that thy land be not defiled, which the LORD thy God giveth
thee for an inheritance.


On the other hand we have Acts 5:30: 30The God of our fathers raised
up Jesus, whom ye slew and hanged on a tree.


So we are told that any man that is hanged on a tree is cursed by
Jesus/bible/god, and we are also told that Jesus/bible/god was hanged
on a tree ... ergo Jesus/bible/god cursed himself, didn't he?


Read in conjunction with Acts above. You can conclude easily :
-Jesus was hanged
-The hanged ones are accursed by God.
-Jesus was God

Actually, yes, that's the point.

The crucifiction isn't seen as just "oh, Jesus had some physical suffering for us." Rather, the whole point of it is that he became accursed for our benefit -- hence the bit where he cries out that his Father has forsaken him. It's actually quite poetic... the idea is that he suffered a humiliating death, took our sin onto him, and went to hell on our behalf.

Of course, the problem with the story is that he didn't go to hell, thus rendering the point irrelevant. Two reasons why: 1) He got out; Hell is supposed to be eternal, and therefore if he just had a temporary stay there, it can't compare to us being put there forever, especially since his getting out proved that he had power over it, which is more than we can say. 2) He tells one of the theives that they'd be in paradise together that night -- so either he was wrong/lying, or he didn't go to Hell at all.
