Also, if your family and church members share your view about a 6,000 year old earth, then they're not normal, they're delusional, just like you. We can perhaps avoid calling them dishonest because, unlike you, we don't know that they've been given enough information to know better.

Regrettably, the one clear, quite obvious point about Dave is that he is not normal. Ineffectual, perhaps; inconsistent, irrational, and uneducated, perhaps; harmless certainly. But not normal.

Dave migh be psychologically normal, but studies of suicide bombers have shown then to be psychologically normal, while many of the scientists and engineers who have made modern civilization possible were psychologically odd.

But all that is off topic here, and may be an indication that this thread has run its course.

I wouldn't say harmless -- prolonged exposure to Dave in an intellectual setting results in a small but noticeable increase in blood pressure. Also an equally small but noticeable depletion of brain cells.
