I have seen a reference to John holding a medallion of the lamb of God on the Throne of Maximian but cannot see any pictures.

Am I correct that early xianity just was not interested in the cross? There are loads of pictures telling various stories like the wedding in cana and jesus healing.

Is the depiction of a cross a result of change of fashion?

St Christopher and the dog people may also be related.

I am surprised that there is not an obvious tracking of themes anywhere.

The earliest Christianity appeared with Helena
the first christian archeologist and second Christian
pilgrim to the "Holy Lands", 300 years after the event.
