I was always puzzled by the warning against 'Casting pearls before swine'. I can't for the life of me think of a single historical play where this would be deemed a good idea.

Swine represent untied data. 'They' either are "loosed" over the cliff or "tied" into the celestial sea. The 'set' into the gentile population shows an increase in wisdom and therefore into the sea the went. This may be hinting to the parasitic nature of Judaism if it is from Mark.

It's a damn sight better than casting pearls behind them, believe you me! They never get their lustre back.

Chili. I don't wish to pry, but would I be right in thinking human is not your first language?

Yes it is my first and second but not my third -- as every engineer should know if he has ever cast pearls before swine.

I don't remember exactly where but do you not think that there is a difference between pigs running into the sea and others over the cliff? Around here, not specifically on this web but in religious America in general they usually run into the fire to feed the fire. Do you think that that is a good idea?

Now that should should have you :rolling: for a while.

Jobar, would you agree that when the 'barn' is on fire pigs are know to run into the barn to seek shelter from the fire where they ultimatly become fuel for the fire? You've got to love those ancients for their metaphors.

That's horses you're thinking about, Chili. I was raised on a farm, and I know that pigs have more sense than that.

(And I've been meaning to ask you- why did you change your screen name from Amos?)
