The rabbis left it in, but they too used an allegorical interpretation about God and 'knesset yisrael' - the assembly of Israel (IOW the Jewish nation). To the point that one (Akiva?) said it was the holiest book of all.

If it is that chunky, seek medical attention.

According to the SofS info on Peter's website, Early Jewish Writings:

"...Nor is its date of composition determined: scholarly speculation ranges from 950 to 200 B.C..."

All that stuff about Christ being the "groom" and the "bride" being the church is not only patently silly but obviously cannot have been the intent of the authors, who never heard of Christ.

I'm really going to have to make my sarcasm more evident. No matter how you say it, voice tone just doesn't come across in writing.

Oh. Sorry. I thought you were serious. Maybe try the "cheeky" smilie next time. That helps.

Where I come from, just mentioning Bernard of Clairvaux's 86 sermons would do the trick.

But next time I'll try the "cheeky" smile.

It's really cute the way you guys speculate about the taste of semen here. If you want an answer from a girl you have to send me a private message. I'm to shy to tell you publicly. Sex isn't dirty by the way, no matter what Woody Allen says. I agree with St Paul for once "To the pure everything is pure" Jews and Muslems at least seems to appreciate it immensely and they usually keep a very high standard of personal hygiene. It's interesting with this spiritual interpretation ogf the Song of Songs. The best Persian poets, adored by ALL Iranians, like Hafez and Khayyam are being treated exactly the same way by the iranian clergy, I'ts especially funny in Hafez case since his poetry so often is so blatantly homoerotic. Not to speak of all the wine gushing through the poetry, and I suspect som hashish fumes to.
