Interesting that a post with subject "insanity" first starts out as a critical judgement of others and ends nicely with some irrational SHOUTING. Back to the topic, I have been an atheist as long as I can remember, but still went through a Roman Catholic Confirmation for my family. In retrospect, it probably wasn't necessary. Even though I haven't changed my opinion on the atheism/theism spectrum this site has a lot of people wo have donated their perspectives and resources on evolutionary biology which I found very important and useful. It seems to be the one topic that fundies that I've talked to always come back to, and the one topic that they are grossly misinformed about, in general. I have BAC in my immediate family that are YEC, and yet even with a presentation of evidence from multiple independent fields, they definitely give the impression of having their hands over their ears lest the "devil talk" get to them. Strangely, they are strikingly rational in most other aspects of their lives. The cognitive dissonance never ceases to impress me.

So, not converted, but definitely grateful for the expertise here.

Ummm, nope. I was afraid it would not be correct if I could be swayed by rhetoric (didn't think too much of atheists then), so mostly I read the infidel library, some of the debates in there and lots and lots of soul-searching (boy, did that search turn empty, still can't find it!).


P.S. joemoe, you don't know me, your love is as valuable as hot air in Sahara. It's a meaningless phrase the way you use it. And the constant use of this phrase in such a way has made me stop using it. It's not even a conscious action on your part. It's a knee-jerk reaction. You see humans and pop "I heart you, Jesus heart you too!" And a word of advice. If you want to say something open a thread on it, do not post off-topic, it's rude. If all you want to do is to recite your little poem and not discuss it and get feed-back, don't bother opening that thread at all.

If you thought this argument would persuade anyone JoeMoe, then you have much to learn. Atheists and Agnostics are the way they are because they are skeptical, becasue they are rational. If you want to persuad anyone, then you will have to argue on our terms, becasue your ranting and raving will get you no-where, and in fact, only earn our spite and disrespect. You will find that most of us will be willing to hear you out providing you use rational arguments and are respectfull.
